What are the government regulations as to becoming an au pair ?
Be between 18 and 26 years old
Possess a driver's license
Have completed secondary school
Be a non-smoker
Speak reasonable English
Have a clean criminal record
Have a great childcare experience (at least 6 months experience, childcare under 2 years old experience is really appreciated)
Be ready to work up to 45 hours per week with a 10 hours maximum per day
Wish to stay 12 months in USA
Have never been Au pair in USA before
Be open-minded, flexible and tolerant

What do you need to provide ?
an application form
at least 2 childcare references (attesting 200h of experience caring for children) and one character reference
a dear host family letter
a medical report completed by your doctor
a photo album with pictures of you with children, friends and family
a video introducing yourselves of 2 to 4 minutes (if possible)
a copy of your diplomas, driving licence, passport, criminal background check, etc ....
